We have been going here for a long time, and the food is still as good as ever. You get a very decent portion for the price, and though you may have to wait for a seat, the service is fast and they are attentive to their customers. A good place to try out a bunch of different authentic Japanese dishes!

Authentic Japanese restaurant that’s both delicious and affordable. Got the Beef Curry Udon and takoyaki and very much enjoyed it. Great service and the prices are amazing. One of the many great restaurants in the Village by the Grange food court. This is probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Toronto. Highly reccomended for everyone!

Affordable place for authentic Japanese flavors. Their food is pretty standard but unbeatable for the price. Quick and good service as well.

Manpuku Japanese Restaurant holds a special place in my heart. I've known the owners since I was a college student, and it's been amazing to watch their family grow—especially seeing their little one grow up! The restaurant offers delicious, authentic Japanese food at very affordable prices, making it a go-to spot for both college and university students. It’s one of my comfort food havens, where I can always count on tasty, satisfying meals. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly. Manpuku has truly been a reliable and comforting part of my culinary journey over the years!

Hidden Gem for Japanese Comfort Food in Downtown Toronto! Manpuku is one of those rare spots that delivers authentic Japanese street food vibes right in the heart of the city. If you’re craving warm, soulful, and flavorful Japanese comfort dishes — this is the place. The curry rice bowl is rich, savory, and perfectly balanced — just the right amount of sweetness and umami, with tender meat and fluffy rice. It’s like a hug in a bowl. Their takoyaki is easily some of the best I’ve had outside of Japan. Crispy outside, gooey inside, generous chunks of octopus, topped with just the right drizzle of mayo and sauce. Pure heaven. The miso udon is a sleeper hit — the broth is deep and earthy, not overly salty, and the chewy udon noodles have that perfect bounce. It’s the kind of bowl that makes you slow down and appreciate every slurp. And don’t skip the pork don — juicy slices of pork over rice with that melt-in-your-mouth texture and slightly sweet-savory glaze. Simple, but executed perfectly. Service is quick, friendly, and no-frills — exactly what you’d expect from a place that puts all its focus into nailing the food. Prices are super reasonable too. Whether you’re Japanese or just a fan of the cuisine, this place hits the spot. I’ll be back — again and again.

Super affordable food for such great quality! Adding two side dishes to your main is very cheap and totally worth it, don’t miss this deal! I had the niku udon with beef as my main. The taste is reminiscent of gyudon from Yoshinoya if the base was udon instead of rice. It’s lovely and comforting

Second time here - one of the few places for authentic, comfort Japanese food! We ordered a rice and udon and upgraded to the combo - highly recommended. The taste is fantastic as usual - I especially loved the soup. Yes, I know it’s just soup but they get it right here : the temperature, aroma, taste...! Rest of the stuff was on point as well - the beef bowl was very delicious and so was the udon! One comment is I noticed the portions were a bit smaller than before : but the prices are very similar. Definitely recommend this place : very delicious and affordable pricing.

This felt like an authentic Japanese restaurant. The prices were pretty affordable and the portions were large. My top favourite dishes were the Negitama Gyudon (the beef was marinaded and cooked nicely) and Takoyaki. The place is a small and intimate setting with nice decor. The staff is friendly and brought out the food quickly.
